About Forum Online
Forum Online is a web3 platform where members of the public can exchange ideas, vote on collective initiatives, and conduct reliable polling on public opinion.
The Forum Online protocol mandates that every account belongs to a real, unique person verified through government-issued identification. The verification requirement protects the platform from bot farms and duplicate accounts and guarantees the authenticity of all participants, ensuring that one individual equals one voice.
The verification process takes place directly on the user's device and is designed to be provably secure, allowing the user's identity to be confirmed without exposing sensitive personal information to anyone, including the developers of the platform.
Forum Online is fully open source and uses advanced cryptography techniques like zero-knowledge proofs to mathematically guarantee voting accuracy, without revealing a participant's identity or voting history. The platform records all votes and posts on a public blockchain, ensuring that information remains publicly verifiable, immutable, and independent from centralized control.
We created Forum Online because we believe that decentralized governance systems have the potential to positively impact policy outcomes by both reducing the risk of coercion or manipulation and increasing voter participation.
The platform aims to make governance more efficient by scaling the voting process. We hope to achieve this by decreasing costs and making voting more accessible to the end-user.
With Forum Online, any organization or individual will be able to host a poll, petition, or initiative without concern for safeguarding voter secrecy or ensuring accurate vote counts, and participants will be able to vote in real time without having to trust any third party.
Furthermore, we plan to introduce a system of voting incentives to promote participation, enable accurate polling, and support transparent lobbying of key policy issues that are truly important and require public consensus.
We believe there is a greater need than ever for transparent and equitable systems for public discussion and collective decision-making, as rapid technological advancement continues to concentrate power and deepen societal imbalances.
Join us and help create the next public forum together!
